Data Warehousing

Data Warehousing refers to the aggregation of business data for carrying out comprehensive data analyses. The goal of this concept is the permanent storage and preparation of business data to support management decision-making.

Distributed data sources from various areas of the company as well as external sources are consolidated and made available for joint processing. This method is also known as Online Analytical Processing (OLAP), which is distinguished from transaction-based analyses (OLTP) in particular by its complexity.

The process follows the ETL schema (Extraction, Transformation and Loading). This approach involves extracting data from various sources, transforming data structures into the desired target format (of the Data Warehouse), and finally loading the data into the Data Warehouse. The data is then stored in non-volatile form, meaning it undergoes no further changes within the Data Warehouse.

This data consistency also enables analyses over longer time periods that would no longer be available in transaction systems. Furthermore, the Data Warehouse achieves a decoupling of OLAP data storage, which prevents any influence on transactional data and thus does not jeopardise business operations.

Data Warehouses are also used for pattern recognition in multidimensional data structures, which is known as Data Mining. The aim here is to identify new correlations that may be of relevance to the company's own business activities.

What value does this create for your business?

With a Data Warehouse system from Pröhl Consulting Berlin, you are ideally equipped for extensive data analyses to keep a constant eye on your market, customers and sales figures.

Don't leave important decisions solely to gut feeling — back them up with professional reports.

You also secure your business data for day-to-day operations, as the analysis runs on a decoupled data basis. This ensures that your daily operational data remains entirely unaffected.

Unlock the possibilities of multidimensional data analysis and pattern recognition (Data Mining). Uncover previously unknown correlations that allow your company to adapt optimally to these conditions — and stay one step ahead of the competition.
